“Jude Bellingham insists ‘no negative feeling’ towards Kane
England young sensation, Jude Bellingham has called for ‘no negative feeling’ towards Harry Kane after the skipper lost a crucial penalty in their quarter-final defeat to France.
The Three Lions were knocked out of the World Cup by the reigning champions with Kane having the chance to take the game to extra-time in the 85th minute from the spot.
However, the Tottenham Hotspurs hitman, who had scored one earlier in the game, blasted the ball over the bar to dissipate England’s hopes of reaching the semis.
Jude Bellingham, could be seen after the miss from Kane, running to meet the England skipper, urging him to raise his head high and continue with the game.
Speaking to the press after the match, the midfielder said, “I just said, as the leader of the team that he is with the media and on the pitch, I felt it was important I kept him in the game mentally.
“For me, I can’t thank him enough for how he’s integrated me into the team and I’ve seen him deliver time and time again.
“On this occasion, he didn’t score. But he’s done more than enough for his country. I just wanted to remind him that he can still win the game.
“It wasn’t to be but there is no negative feeling towards him after what he’s done for this country.”
