Nnewi youth forum passes vote of confidence on Soludo, promises credible election
From David Onwuchekwa, Nnewi
Newly constituted Nnewi Youth Forum caretaker committee members have pledged their loyalty to Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State and promised to conduct a credible election.
In a communique signed by Mr Kenechukwu Onuchukwu as the youth leader and Obinna Ubah Esquire, Secretary, the youths said they passed vote of confidence on Governor Soludo.
They appealed to the Governor to improve on security and infrastructure. The youths also said that the Governor should boost access to healthcare and education which they noted would pave way for political stability in Nnewi North and Anambra State at large.
“The Nnewi North Youth Forum will at all times leverage its network and grassroots penetration to complement all the efforts of the governement of Anambra State to make Nnewi North Local Governement Area and Anambra State better and safer for all.
“The forum dissociates herself and members from vices, negative utterances and other activities of professional activists trading and masquerading under the guise of Nnewi youth thereby constituting a threat to the peace and stability in Nnewi town resulting to unprovoked verbal threats and assault on prominent individuals in Nnewi and Anambra State including governement functionaries at all levels in the State.
“It is germane we warn those who engage in name calling against our traditional rulers, our political office holders at all levels and our prominent industrialists and philanthropists to forthwith desist from such uncivilized conduct as such will help to curb and reduce tensions in Nnewi and give peace the desired room, ” the youths said.
They declared that they were not only law-abiding but also lovers of peace and progress in line with their slogan (Udo na Oganiru), saying that they would continue to support every initiative aimed at promoting peace and development.
The youths urged those they described as peace-loving and enterprising youths of Nnewi to go about their lawful businesses without fear of any encumbrance. They said that they would not in the interim fail to provide the leadership that would guarantee lawful enterprises.
“We call on all hands to be on deck as we look forward to organize peaceful, fair, credible and rancor-free election,” they said.
